Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday scholars will be taking the New York State ELA Assessment. Scholars do not need to bring anything to school other than breakfast, lunch and pencils/erasers. No book bags will be needed until Friday when we resume regular classes. Scholars will be dismissed at 1:35pm each day. Since scholars are permitted to work untimed, any scholars who are not done at 1:35 will be permitted to stay and continue working until they are done.
We advise scholars to get restful sleep each night and avoid having sugary, artificial foods for breakfast each morning. It is also encouraged for scholars to review all of their notes and resources that have been given to them thus far! Remind your scholars of all the hard work they have done so far and of the improvements they have made in their writing and analysis skills since September! We are extremely proud of them and wish them the best of luck! Over the weekend scholars have the opportunity to complete test corrections and can earn back up to half of the points they did not receive. They should do so on loose leaf and attach the corrections to their original text. This assignment is due no later than Monday.
The extra credit writing assignment is due by tomorrow! Scholars should also finish their classwork from today.
Scholars will be given an extra credit writing assignment for which they can earn up to 2 quiz points. The assignment will be due no later than Friday, March 24th!
There is no assigned homework tonight. Scholars who have missing assignments should be sure to turn them in as soon as possible!
Scholars should complete the 2nd Read questions for paragraphs 8-10 of Excerpt 3 and finish any incomplete classwork.
Scholars should complete the 2nd Read questions for Excerpt 3 of the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. They should only focus on completing the questions for the paragraphs read in class.
As a reminder, scholars are scheduled to take a Math Interim tomorrow. If school is not impacted by the impending snow storm, they should not bring their book bags with them. If school is impacted by the storm, the Interim will be rescheduled; Wednesday will be a regular instruction day.
