Scholars should return to class tomorrow prepared with the materials they need for their children's books (planning packet, excerpt, Narrative Writer's Toolbox, Narrative Arc cheat sheet).
Over the weekend, scholars should finish their Children's Storybook Planning Packet and have 5 questions prepared for Part II of the Mid-Unit Assessment during which they will partake in a Writer's Roundtable.
Tomorrow scholars will take Part I of their Mid-Unit Assessment and it will be on sentences/structure. They should review the notes from Monday and Tuesday and review any returned work on sentences from this week.
On Monday, scholars will complete Part II of the Mid-Unit Assessment. For this, they will participate in a Writer's Roundtable where they will share the concerns they have about their children's storybook plans. The plan should be completed over the weekend and brought back on Monday for this Roundtable.
Permission slips are due tomorrow for the trip to MoMath on Friday 5/26!

Scholar will be having Part I of the Mid-Unit Assessment on Friday 5/19. To prepare for this, they need to complete the sentence practice worksheet they will be given tonight and review the notes they take today and tomorrow.
Reminder: permission slips for the trip to MoMath on Friday 5/26 will be due this Friday!

Scholars will need to turn in their Final Draft of the process writing we have been doing on Friday 5/12. If handwritten, it should be in black/blue ink or pencil and should be impeccably legible! If typed, it should be 12 point, black font and double spaced.
Additionally, permission slips to MoMath will be due by Friday 5/19!
Scholars should be sure to bring in their permission slip for a trip to MoMath on Friday, May 26th! The slip is due back by Friday, May 19th!
Scholars should indicated places in Draft 2 where they need to make revisions based on their peer feedback. They then should complete Draft 3 and have it prepared for tomorrow.
